Why A Day Without A Woman Matters

On March 8, International Women's Day will resonate a little bit louder this year for the participants in the Women's March. The organizers have announced a call to action, and it's hitting the airwaves loud and clear.

Across the country, women are pledging to join the Day Without a Woman campaign in one (or more! of these three ways:

  1. Women take the day off, from paid and unpaid labor.

  2. Avoid shopping for one day (with exceptions for small, women- and minority-owned businesses).

  3. Wear RED in solidarity with A Day Without A Woman.

While these three actions are meaningful, what's even more meaningful is that women are standing proud, together to voice that our presence in society makes a difference each day. Our purchasing power is strong. Our presence in the workplace - a presence that adds to better decision-making, better outcomes, and better products (all of which are backed up by data) - must be heard.

Let's get ready.
