Arts + Community + Empowerment: A Look at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop

What do juggling, drawing live models, string music recitals, eating good food, making friends and feminism have in common? These are all activities you can find in Capitol Hill this August at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop --- CHAW. At CHAW, the workspace/pottery studio/dance hall/classroom/inspiration hub of Southwest D.C., you can find activities for babies to great grandparents at any given day of the week.

Zora & Amelia is proud to be included in their bustling August events calendar --- join us there to hear some string music for their String Fling Recital and celebrate summer and kick off fall class registration with art, performances, food, fun, and friends. Stop by any time between 10am and 1pm for all the goods—and to hear CHAW's great summer strings students show off their hard work.

All activities are FREE and open to the public; all ages welcome.  All events take place in CHAW’s building and courtyard, weather permitting (located at 545 7th St. SE).  Popup shop items will be for sale, with a percentage of proceeds going to CHAW’s Paint Bucket Campaign, raising $70,000 in 70 days to support their tuition assistance program (which you should totally read more about on their Facebook page & join their other events too).
